MR. WALDBUSSER RITES SATURDAY

John Waldbusser, 86, of 1010 Prairie St., died Wednesday at St. Francis Manor, following an extended illness.

The son of Martin and Magdalina Waldbusser, he was born Nov. 20, 1886, at Wittenburg, Germany. He received his education in the schools of Germany and at the age of 17 came to the United States and settled in Grinnell.

He was married to Minnie Larsen Feb. 27, 1909, in Grinnell. Following their marriage, the couple farmed for 60 years in the Grinnell and Kellogg areas. After their retirement, they moved to Grinnell in 1968.

Mr. Waldbusser was baptised in the Lutheran faith. He also was a charter member of the Victor Grange.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Mary) Taylor of Grinnell; three grandchildren, John Taylor of Newton, James Taylor of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Andrew (Janice) Larkin of Bellevue, Neb.; and three great-grandchildren, Scott, Sarah, and Marilee Taylor of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Frederick; his wife, Minnie, Dec. 2, 1972; and four sisters.

Funeral services for Mr. Waldbusser will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home. Elder C.D. Talbert will officiate, and burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery.
