CAMILLA EVANS DIES IN FAIRFIELD

Camilla Kate Evans, 71, of Fairfield, a native of Grinnell, died of an apparent heart attack Wednesday morning, March 9, at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First United Presbyterian Church of Fairfield, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery there. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials in Mrs. Evans' name may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church.

The daughter of Edwin and Sarah Minnie Warren Dare, she was born Jan. 9, 1912 at Grinnell. She was raised and educated here, later graduating from college in Des Moines.

On Nov. 2, 1933, she was married to Lyman T. Evans in Grinnell. The couple lived for two years in Marshalltown before moving to Fairfield in 1934. Mrs. Evans had been associated with the L.T. Evans Insurance Agency in Fairfield for 49 years.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, past president of Chapter C of the P.E.O., a charter member of the 3-H Club, a member of Alpha Circle of her church, and a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Susan K. Phipps of Fairfield; one son, James L. Evans of Fairfield; two grandchildren; one brother, Harlan Dare of Grinnell; and one sister, Mildred Hendrickson, also of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
