MRS. MYERS DIES; SERVICES TUESDAY

Mrs. Bess A. Myers, 82, wife of Cecil S. Myers, died Saturday evening (July 27) at a local hospital, after a brief illness.

Elizabeth Alice Reynolds was born in Grinnell on July 29, 1885, the only daughter of Bernard H. and Margaret Fox Reynolds. She attended the Grinnell public schools and was married Oct. 16, 1909 to Cecil S. Myers of Grinnell.

Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by three brothers--Fred H. Reynolds of Grinnell, George A. Reynolds of Denver, Colo., and Ben H. Reynolds of Grinnell, and her parents.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one brother, Harry M. Reynolds of Grinnell and one nephew and three nieces.

Mrs. Myers was a member of the United Church of Christ (Congregational), the American Legion Auxiliary, the Eastern Star, the White Shrine, and the Rebekahs. She was Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs, and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of Patriarchs Militant. At the time of her death she had been a member of the Rebekahs for over 60 years, the longest term of membership of any present living members.

Funeral services for Mrs. Myers will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery. The Reverend Ralph Beebe will officiate.
