Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 12, at the Smith Funeral Home for Jessie M. Reynolds, 91, of 1013 Spring St., who died early Tuesday morning at Grinnell General Hospital following five weeks of hospitalization.

The Rev. Ralph Beebe of the Mayflower Home will officiate at the services. Music will be provided by Mrs. Willard Heffner, organist, and Dale Clark, vocalist.

Pallbearers will be Loris Adkins, Wes Ahrens, Oral Bailey, Floyd Beason, Carl Child and E.C. Turner.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.

The daughter of Austin and Sarah Garrity Reynolds, Mrs. Reynolds was born Sept. 5, 1879, at Foster, Ill. She came to Iowa with her family in 1901 and lived north of Kellogg for one year.

In 1902, her family moved to Grinnell. Later Miss Reynolds began nurses' training at Kansas City, Mo., and in 1916 she graduated from the school of Nursing at The University of Iowa.

Miss Reynolds served as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital until 1932 when she returned to University Hospitals in Iowa City. She continued her nursing duties in Iowa City until 1951 when she returned to Grinnell to make her home. Following her retirement, she did part time and special nursing at St. Francis Hospital until her health began to fail.

Miss Reynolds is survived by two sisters--Mrs. Cora Hummel and Mrs. Carrie Shults, both of Grinnell; her sister-in-law, Mrs. D.M. Reynolds of Grinnell; a nephew, Kenneth Hummel of Phoenix, Ariz.; a great-nephew, and a great-great-niece and nephew.

Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dan M. Reynolds on Sept. 21, 1969.
