D.M. REYNOLDS RITES THURSDAY

D.M. "Buck" Reynolds, 74, of 1315 Summer St., died Sunday afternoon at Grinnell General Hospital East following a lingering illness the past few months.

The son of Austin and Sarah Garrity Reynolds, he was born July 2, 1895, at Foster, Ill. When he was five, his family moved to Grinnell where he resided the rest of his life. He attended Grinnell High School.

During World War I, he enlisted in the Army and was based at Camp Pike, Ark., as a sergeant.

He was married to Iowa Clark on August 27, 1917 in Des Moines at the Methodist parsonage. Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary two years ago. He had operated a dry cleaning shop in Grinnell for over 30 years. He also operated a clothing store for three years, and for the past 20 years he owned a monument business in Grinnell.

He was a 50-year member of Hermon Masonic Lodge and a 50-year member of the Focht-Tennant American Legion Post. He was also a member of the Grinnell Elks Lodge and had been a charter member of the Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife Iowa; three sisters, Miss Jessie Reynolds, Mrs. Cora Hummell, and Mrs. Carrie Shults, all of Grinnell; a nephew, Kenneth Hummell of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a great nephew, Donald Hummell, and a great niece, Lori Hummell, both of Wichita, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Mr. Reynolds will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Grinnell United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph Beebe of the Mayflower Home officiating. Masonic funeral rites will be conducted by Hermon Masonic Lodge at the Methodist church, and American Legion graveside rites will be provided by Focht-Tennant Post No. 53 ceremonial unit.

Burial will be in Hazelwood cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home. Memorials in Mr. Reynolds' name may be established for the Iowa Cancer Society in care of Mrs. Wayne Reams of Grinnell.
