SHULTS RITES ARE TUESDAY

Carrie Fae Shults, 90, of 1134 Spring St. in Grinnell, died Saturday night, Jan. 17, at Friendship Manor.

Services for Carrie F. Shults will be held Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert C. Smith, minister of the First Baptist Church, officiating.

American Legion Auxiliary rites will be given by members of the Grinnell auxiliary. Burial will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery.

Born Jan. 21, 1890, in Foster, Ill., the daughter of Austin and Sarah Ann Garrity Reynolds. As a young girl she came with her family from Illinois to farm north of Kellogg in 1901.

In 1902, the family moved to Grinnell to make their home, and she had lived here since. She graduated with the Grinnell High School class of 1909.

She was an employee of the former Morrison-Shults glove factory and of the Rock Island Arsenal during World War II. She was a charter member of the Grinnell unit of the American unit of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Grinnell First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jessie Reynolds and Mrs. Cora Hummell; one brother, Daniel M. "Buck" Reynolds.
