JULIA LACINA FUNERAL RITES HELD TODAY

Mrs. Julia Lacina, 75, wife of Joe Lacina, Rte. 2, Grinnell, died early Friday morning at a local hospital where she had been a patient since April 1st.

Funeral services were held this afternoon (Monday) from the Smith Funeral Home with Dr. G.S. Bruland of the Methodist church officiating. Vocal music was provided by Mrs. Noel Taylor, accompanied by Mrs. Kathleen Heffner at the organ.

Flower bearers were Mrs. Ralph Spooner and Mrs. Claude Reeves. Pallbearers were Paul Clayton, Albert Grosenbach, Leonard Pederson, John Peterson, Albert Plesek, and Claude Reeves. Interment was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at Marshalltown.

She was born Apr. 14th, 1887 the daughter of Vencil and Josephine Kouba Krepela in Tama county. She received her early edcuation in the Tama county schools.

On Feb. 22nd, 1910, she was united in marriage with Joseph William Lacina and to this union two sons and a daughter were born: Floyd K. Lacina and Mrs. Glenn (Madeline) Harris, both of near Grinnell, and Wallace, who died in 1913.

In addition to her husband, son and daughter, Mrs. Lacina is survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild; five sisters, Mrs. John Stoddard of Reinbeck, Mrs. George Gillingham of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Mary Fee of Los Angeles, Mrs. Tillie Lemon of Tujunga, Calif., and Mrs. Farrell Beckner of Los Angeles; three brothers, Theordore Krepela of El Segundo, Calif., Emil Krepela of Brawley, Calif., and Charles Krepela of Chandler, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, one grandchild and three brothers.

Mrs. Lacina had lived in the Grinnell area since 1929, coming here from Tama. She had participated in the Mehtodist church, the Grange, and several community clubs.
