Phebe Ella McDaniel, daughter of George H. and Idell L. Morris, was born Feb. 8, 1896 near Newburg, the youngest of four children.

She was united in marriage to Tito McDaniel, April 20, 1920. In October of 1920 they moved to Grinnell. A son was born to them, March 24, 1921. Mrs. McDaniel made her home with her sister Clara Morris in Grinnell for a number of years until her death. She was preceded in death by her sister, parents and her brother, Moreau. She is survived by her son Charles McDaniel and her sister Miss Clara Morris, three granddaughters and a host of friends.

Phebe lived a simple life and aided many families in the community and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints until her health failed her. She passed away at the Community hospital, March 2, 1957.

Funeral services were held March 5, 1957 at the James funeral home. President Harvey A. Penil officiated. Pallbearers were Elders Larry Bushman, Anza Evans, Melvin Farnsworth, Bruce Darling, Bud Stevenson, and Gerald Antone. Accompanist was Sister Gretchen Sipes. Interment was at Chester cemetery.
