LENORE BRUBAKER

Lenore May Brubaker, 82, of Grinnell died Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Stewart, pastor of the Grinnell First Baptist Church, officiating. Organist was Denise Baustian, and soloist was Milton Severe. Pallbearers were Harold Brown, Donovan Evans, Henry, Tom and Dennis Harris and Charles Routier.

Burial was in Chester Cemetery north of Grinnell.

The daughter of Francis Lee and Ruth Etta Klome Tice, she was born April 28, 1913, in Perry. Following the death of her mother in 1920, she made her home with Joe and Laura Campbell in Chester township. She was a 1932 graduate of Grinnell High School.

She was married to Ray Brubaker Dec. 6, 1941, in Lancaster, Mo., and the couple farmed in Chester Township. They moved to Grinnell in 1955. Mrs. Brubaker was a homemaker and for several years helped her husband mow the grounds of Chester Cemetery.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Sonora Grange Women's Group.

Surviving are four sisters, Nancy Watson of Fremont, Neb., Billie Baldwin of Phoenix, Ariz., Leona Lee of Arlington, Texas, and Lorraine Comstock of Grinnell, and two brothers, Linden Tice of Moline, Ill., and Louis Lee Tice of Lakewood, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Dora Tice; her husband; one sister, Laura Marie Salem; and one brother, Lloyd Tice.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Grinnell First Baptist Church.
