MRS. H.S. MARVIN
On Sunday night at 11 o'clock Mrs. H.S. Marvin passed away after a protracted illness the end of which was probably hastened by the death of her husband. Hannah Park was born in Camden, Oneida Co., New York, May 21, 1827, where she lived till six years after her marriage with H.S. Marvin, March 8, 1847. In the spring of 1853 they came to Iowa, moving to Grinnell in 1868 where she lived till her death. Five children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy. Three survive both parents, F.P. and Shepherd Marvin of this city and Rev. J.T. Marvin of Corning. In early life Mrs. Marvin belonged to the Methodist Episcopal church, but she became a member of the Congregational church on coming to Grinnell. The funeral took place this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house, Rev. E.M. Vittum officiating.
