Miss Mollie Tiecke died at her home in Muscatine, on the 16 inst., after an illness of nearly thirteen weeks with typhoid fever. Her sister, Mrs. Henry Held, of this city, was summoned, arriving at the bedside of her loved one, just as the end was drawing very near, but too late to receive a look of loving recognition or a tender goodbye from the lips that soon were sealed in death. Miss Liecke’s age was twenty-six. She had been a member of the Presbyterian Church for a number of years, and was known as a consistent Christian girl. She had visited at the Held home in this city a number of times and formed many pleasant acquaintances and friendships among our young people, who will learn with deepest sorrow of her death. ~ The Newton Record, Thursday, December 26, 1901, Page 4, Column 4
