for Mrs. Fred FreaseThe final rites for Mrs. Fred Frease were conducted by Rev. Wm. Morehouse in the Deep River Methodist Church Thursday, Dec., 10. Two selections were played by Mrs. Clint Icenbice, organist. interment was in the 100F Cemetery, Brooklyn, with Roy Sanders, Lester Thompson, Robert Sander, Russell Ladely, Everett Johnston and Denver Miles serving as casketbearers.
Mamie, daughter of Dorcas and James Johnston, was born near Brooklyn, June 14, 1887, and died in St. Francis Hospital, Grinnell, Dec. 7. She was 77.
She attended rural school and lived with her sister, Mrs. Fannie Sanders, after her parents died when she was 11.
On April 10, 1904, she married Fred Frease. They had two children and their son, Raymond, accidentally lost his life at the age of seven. Their married life of more than 50 years was spent farming an the Brooklyn and Montezuma communities
She was a member of the Methodist Church and attended the Friendly Neighbors Club. Since the death of her husband in 1954, she lived in Deep River with her daughter and son-in l-law.
Survivors include her daughter, Wilma Gillespie, two grandchildren, Wayne Gillespie, Deep River and Mrs. Sharon Harriman, East Amana, and four great grandcildren.
