Newspaper clipping dated Apr. 14, 1905

--Last Tuesday evening about 6:30 I.S. Hadley, a well known and highly respected farmer who has been living at the home of his son, R.J. Hadley at Jones' Grove was found hanging dead in the barn suspended by a rope from the rafters. County Coroner Talbott was summoned but there was no need for an inquest as it was perfectly evident that it was a case of suicide and death had resulted from strangulation as the fall had not been far enough to break the neck. The cause for the rash act is thought without doubt to have been temporary insanity due to ill health as it as known that he had for sometime been despondent over his physical condition which made it necessary for him to have medical treatment. The deceased was sixty one years old and has made his home in this vicinty for a number of years, where he and his family have always been held in respect and high esteem. To the latter the sympathy of a large number of acquaintances and friends goes out in their deep affliction. The funeral will be held this afternoon at four o'clock, conducted by Prof. S.J. Buck after which the body will be taken to Whittier, Calif., for burial beside the body of his *wife.

Transcriber Note: *Julia A. (Jessup) Hadley died 19 Aug 1902; buried at Whittier, CA
