ISAAC REYNOLDS

Isaac Reynolds was born August 9, 1864, and quietly passed away during the early part of the morning of January 3, 1921, being 56 years, 5 months and 27 days of age. He was the son of Alfred and Marion Reynolds who were among the first pioneer settlers in the section of the county. He was born in Union township where his childhood was spent. Early in life, he united with the Church of Christ at West Liberty Chapel, under the preaching of his father, and as long as he lived here continued to be a willing and faithful church worker. In 1890 he located near Delta and in March of 1890 he was united in marriage to Miss S.A. Hicklin. Soon after he and his wife moved west, locating near Denver, Colo. to this union four children were born. In the year 1905 he and his family moved back to Iowa, locating near Delta, where they lived until about three years ago when he again came back to the community of his childhood where he remained until his death.

For several years Mr. Reynolds has been in poor health, suffering from frequent attacks of heart trouble. During the early part of October he was taken down with an attack of heart trouble and dropsy. All was done that medical skill and loving hands could do, but it was to no avail. For a short time he appeared to rally, but the disease had done its deadly work so thoroughly that no skill could combat it.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, four children--David and Roy of Montezuma, and Ruby and Blanche of Ames, one granddaughter, Mae Reynolds, two brothers, S.V. Reynolds of Oskaloosa and W.W. Reynolds of Montezuma, and six sisetrs, Mrs. Mary Gregson, Mrs. Lois Guile, of Des Moines, Mrs. Carron Hicklin of Swea City, Mrs. Martha Burtlow of Delta, Mrs. Lizzie Miller of Grinnell, Mrs. Becky Millier of Montezuma, and a host of nephews, cousins and friends.--Montezuma Palladium.
