MEDIA REYNOLDS RITES SATURDAY
Services for Mrs. Russell (Media) Reynolds were conducted by the Rev. Douglas Smiley Saturday morning, June 17, at the Steffy Funeral Home. Mrs. Douglas Smiley was the organist at the rites.
Casket bearers were Cloyd Carl, Basil Hicks, Curtis Blain, Gary Blain, Scott Blain and Marvin Blain. Burial was in the Masonic-IOOF Cemetery.
Mrs. Reynolds, 60, died Thursday, June 15, at Grinnell General Hospital.
The daughter of S.A. and Lulu Hicks Blain, she was born southeast of Montezuma on Sept. 17, 1917. She attended rural school and Montezuma High School.
On Sept. 29, 1938, she was marrried to Harry Lohr. Two daughters were born to this marriage. Mr. Lohr died in 1942.
In November of 1944 she was married to Russell V. Reynolds. They have lived and farmed in Poweshiek County. Two children were born to this marriage.
She is survived by her husband; her daughters, Jean Axtell of West Des Moines and Marlene Current of Montezuma; her son, Carroll Reynolds of Marshalltown; two step-children; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Louise Lohr Bentley; her parents; and a brother Ival Blain.
