A very sudden and peculiarly sad death occurred here last Thursday afteroon when Mrs. Mary, wife of John Wiedow, suddenly dropped dead. A breechy cow had been giving her some trouble, and shortly after dinner on the day in question she noticed the animal about to break into the corn field. She ran to head her off, and while chasing the cow fell dead. Her husband saw her fall, but supposing it the result of an accident, did not hasten to her side. When she did not arise he hastened to aid her.
