KATHLEEN HELEN CULBERT, 63

Kathleen Helen Culbert, 63, of Deep River, died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at her home in Deep River.

Her funeral service was held Thursday, April 15 at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma witht the Rev. William Reynolds, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell, officiating.

Casket bearers were James Culbert, Michael Culbert, Thomas Culbert, Alex Miller, Adam Mullens and Wendy Gorsch.

Burial was in the Golden Rod Cemetery in Deep River.

Kathleen was born June 11, 1940 in Hartford, Conn. to Wesley and Katherine (Mara) Hansen. She earned her master's degree in microbiology from Virginia Polytech Institute College in Blacksburg, Va. Kathleen was united in marriage to Fredrick James Culbert. The couple had three sons.

Kathleen lived in Raymond, Wis. for 20 years, moving to Deep River 10 years ago where she farmed. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, logic work and shooting her gun.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kathleen is survived by three sons: James of Deep River; Michael of Milwaukee, Wis.; and Thomas of South Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Jean Hansen, of Washington, D.C.; and two granddaughters: Kalyn and Paige.
