ROY RAYMOND, 80, RETIRED BARBER, MINISTER, SUCCUMBS IN HOSPITAL

Roy, son of Clara and James Raymond, was born in Waukon, Iowa, on August 24, 1887, and passed away in the Grinnell Hospital, on July 1, 1968, at eighty years of age.

He grew to manhood in Waukon and became a barber.

Several years after the death of his wife, he was united in marriage with Irene Briggs Panek. They have made their home in Deep River, except for a year and a half when he served as lay minister for the Oak Grove Christian Church in Shellsburg, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife and one sister Mrs. Nancy Morgan, also, a step-daughter Joan Scott, and three grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Services were conducted for Mr. Raymond at Steffy Funeral Home, Montezuma, July 3 by the Rev. James Seeber. Burial was in Goldenrod cemetery, Deep River.
