DEATH SUMMONS MRS. OLE AKRE

Bertha Pederson, oldest daughter of Peder and Olena Pederson was born March 15, 1852 at Hviding, Stavanger, Norway. She was united in marriage to Peder Olson Opdahl, who died at sea in 1886, leaving her with the care of three small children.

In 1888 she came to the United States to make her home settling near Grinnell, Iowa, where she has lived continuously with the exception of three years spent at Clear Lake, S.D. On July 15, 1890 she was married to Ole J. Akre of New Sharon. To this marriage four children were born. She passed away Jan. 5, 1927 at the home near Ewart at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 21 days.

Mrs. Akre is survived by her husband and seven children. The children are: Rev. Berthodus Opdahl, Twin Valley, Minn., Olie J. Opdahl, Chicago, Ill., Peter L. Opdahl, Malcom, Iowa, Mrs. Emma Lande, Buffalo Center, Ia., Mrs. Jennie Clements, Marshalltown, Ia., Perry and Mrs. Olga Roseland at home. Two brothers and two sisters also mourn her departure, Miss Olava Pederson, Grinnell, Mr. Ommund Pederson, Grinnell, Peder Pederson, Ellsorth, Iowa and Mrs. J.J. Finley of Mrshalltown, Ia.

Mrs. Akre was a member of the Lutheran church. She has been an invalid, suffering much, for a considerable time. She had been tenderly ministered unto by her loved ones, especially Mrs. Olga Roseland who lived in the home.

Funeral services were held in the Norwegian Lutheran Church in Grinnell, Iowa conducted by the Rev. George Blagg on Satureday afternoon, Jan. 8, 1927. Approprite hymns were sung by Mrs. D.H. Snook and Mrs. A.S. Ennis. Burial was made in Hazelwood.
