WILLIAM GEORGE SPIRE CLOSES USEFUL LIFE

William George Spire, the son of Richard and Isadora Spire, was born September 25, 1876, at the old Spire home place in Sheridan township. Here he grew to manhood, and in 1897 was united in marriage to Myrtle Lear. They resided in or near this community since that time.

To this union were born six children, all of whom survive. They are: Wayne of Madison, Mrs. Harry Lane of Toledo, Everett, Gaylord, Lester and Margaret at home.

He is also survived by two brothers, James and Ancil, and five sisters, Mrs. Herb Dee, Mrs. F.R. Graham, Mrs. Robert Engle, Mrs. Wallace Staly and Mrs. C.A. Robeson. He also leaves one grandchild.

Death came after a short illness which had developed into pneumonia. Mr. Spire was forty-eight years old.

Funeral services were held at the Sheridan M.E. church conducted by the pastor, F.A. Moore, Friday, March 6. Interment was in Sheridan cemetery.
