MARJORIE COTTRELL
Marjorie Deloris Cottrell, 60, of Newton, a native of Brooklyn and a former resident of Grinnell, died of heart failure Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton, with the Rev. Bill Van Patten of the Newton Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
The daughter of Harold and Lillian Bell Walker, she was born May 16, 1936, in Brooklyn. She attended Brooklyn schools. She was married to Robert Cottrell Aug. 14, 1953, in Grinnell.
Mrs. Cottrell, a homemaker, was a member of T.O.P.S.
She is survived by her husband; her mother; one son, Terry of Newton; one daughter, Cathy Smith of Des Moines; two grandchildren; two brothers, Robert and Melvin Walker, both of Newton, and three sisters, Jane Maple, Anabel Ballard and Barb Kalma, all of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her father, one step-brother and one step-sister.
