A WONDERFUL WOMAN GONE
----------------------
Passing of Mrs. Josephine Wetmore Rust Is Deeply Mourned by All.
----------------------

The death of Mrs. Josephine Wetmore Rust takes from the medical profession and from social circles a woman of high talent, of wide and successful practice and of sweet womanly character. Coming to Grinnell when she was still a young woman, her gentle character and her success as a physician won for her a wide practice and formed for her many warm and worthy friendships. In her death a notable woman has passed away. In all that she took part in, she was a capbable and successful woman, and many friends regret her sad loss.

Funeral services for Dr. Josephine W. Rust were held Friday at the home of her sister, Mrs. L.H. Rinefort.

Dr. Rust was a graduate of Northwestern university, took her interne work at the Mary Thompson hospital at Chicago and shortly thereafter as residing physician at the state reformatory for girls at Mitchellville, Ia.

For the last four years she has been associated with the Shepard-Towner mothers' work, which is conducted through the extension division of the State University of Iowa, and previous to that had practiced in Grinnell over twenty years. She has been a resident of Des Moines one year.

She was active in the State Society for Medical Women, being chosen president for the year 1921. During the war Dr. Rust trained nurses for war work and served as a government lecturer on hygiene.

Besides her husband, R.R. Rust, she is survived by a son, Joseph L., who is a sophomore in the engineering department at Ames, a daughter, Harriet Rust, who graduated from Grinnell last June, two sisters, Mrs. L.H. Rinefort, 1206 Broad street, and Mrs. Paul McConnell of Pasadena, Calif., and one brother, Ivyl Wetmore, of Arcadia, Calif.
