MYRLE K. AUDAS

Myrle K. Audas, 79, of Rte. 1, Malcom, died Sunday, Feb. 16, at her home.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Montezuma, with the Rev. George Salnave officiating. Organist was Kathleen Ramsey, and soloist was Rhonda Minner.

Pallbearers were Steve Audas, Dave Hodapp, Marvin Johnson, Rick Meppelink, Kenny Lavent and Mike Butler. Honorary bearers were J.C. Gates, Waldo Vannoy, Clifford Johnson, Ronald Baltisberger, Dale McWilliams and Marvin Bunnell.

Burial was in Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma, with the Watts Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of William C. and Flora Carpenter Stimson, she was born Sept. 16, 1912, on a farm south of Brooklyn. She graduated from Malcom High School in 1931 and from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1935. She then taught rural school in Poweshiek County for 12 years.

On June 6, 1936, she was married to Walter Audas in Nashua. The couple farmed in the Malcom area and operated Audas Feed and Supply in Montezuma for several years.

Mrs. Audas was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Montezuma.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Meppelink of Montezuma and Linda Lavent of Malcom; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Minerva Johnson of Grinnell; and one brother, Wayne Stimson of Sheffield. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Terry; her husband; one sister, Eunice Douglass; and one brother, Lowell Stimson.
