DORIS AUDAS

Doris Maxine Audas, 66, of the Marshall County Care Facility, a former resident of Grinnell, died Saturday, Feb. 11, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Epperson of the Grinnell Christian Church officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler, and soloist was Milton Severe.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Tony, Leslie and Todd Lynch; Steven and Benjamin Fuller; John, James and Joseph Audas; and Clayton Jensen. Burial was in Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ewart.

A Doris M. Audas Memorial Fund has been established.

The daughter of John and Hazel White Donnan, she was born May 8, 1928, in Grinnell. She was a 1945 graduate of Grinnell High School. She taught at the McClure School House north of Malcom for a few years.

On Aug. 22, 1947, she was married to Eldon Audas in Grinnell. She was employed as a clerk at West Market and as a teacher's aide in Belle Plaine.

She was divorced from her husband in 1955 and moved to Marshalltown in 1972 where she worked as a nurse's aide. She had been a resident of the Marshall County Care Facility for the past several years.

Surviving are four children, Doris Chisek of Marshalltown, Norma Lynch of Marshalltown, Dick of Omaha, Neb., and Mary Fuller of Gilman; nine grandsons; six granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
