EDW. WILKINS, 89, NEWBURG FARMER, DIES

Edward Wilkins, retired Newburg farmer, died Tuesday evening at a Grinnell hospital following a lingering illness. He was 89 years old.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. from James Funeral Home with Rev. C.E. Kingsley, minister of the First Baptist church, officiating.

Lifelong resident of the Newburg community, Mr. Wilkins had farmed in Jasper and Poweshiek counties until retiring and moving to Newburg nine years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Belle; a daughter, Mrs. Phillip Krumm of Kellogg; two sons, Denton of Grinnell and Harvey of Newburg; and a sister, Mrs. Feturia Strawn of Missouri.

Burial will be at Mount Pleasant cemetery with James Funeral Home in charge.
