DORIS KRUMM RITES TODAY

Doris E. Krumm, 72, of 903 East St., Grinnell, died Thursday, Jan. 29, at Grinnell General Hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Revs. Peter and Allyson Sawtell, co-pastors of the Newburg Congregational United Church of Christ, officiating.

Music was provided by Alice Renaud, organist, and Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Sharp, vocalists. Pallbearers were Carroll Anderson, Emery Kaisand, John V. Krumm, James McNally, Lawrence Wallis and Martin Wright. Burial was at the Westfield Cemetery southwest of Grinnell.

The daughter of George C. and Anna Marie Nicholas Losey, she was born Sept. 15, 1908, in Fargo, Okla. Following the death of her father, she and her mother came to Grinnell. She graduated from Grinnell High School in 1928 and attended the School of Nursing at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

Following her graduation in 1932, she practiced nursing at the former Community Hospital in Grinnell.

She was married to Paul Krumm in Grinnell on Sept.6, 1942. The couple had two children. Mr. and Mrs. Krumm farmed in the Newburg community.

Mrs. Krumm was a member of the Newburg Congregational United Church of Christ and the women's fellowship of the church. Her husband Paul died as a result of an auto accident in 1963, and Mrs. Krumm continued to live on the farm until 1970. She returned to her nursing career, working at Grinnell General Hospital until two years ago.

She is survived by her children, Paul L. Krumm of Grinnell and Karen Marie Weaver of Rte. 2, Grinnell; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Maurice C. Losey and James Edwin Losey; and a sister, Julia Losey, who died in infancy.
