HENRY L. KRUMM

Henry L. Krumm, 81, of Ewart died of heart and circulatory ailments Sunday, June 2, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Revs. Howard J. Lord and Glenn H. Hulsebus officiating. Vocalist was Anna Slaven.

Pallbearers were Marvin Doty, Patrick Fortune, Arthur Goeke, Claude Krumm, Daniel McDowell and Paul Van Roekel. Honorary bearers were Lonnie Durr, Randy Klein, Curtis Means, Eric Means and Greg Stravers. Burial was in Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ewart.

The son of Henry and Katharina Mathes Krumm, he was born Feb. 25, 1910, in Jasper County southwest of Grinnell. He attended rural school.

He was married to Doris Eva Sharp May 7, 1938, in Des Moines. The couple farmed south of Grinnell until 1949 when they moved to a farm near State Center. In 1957 they moved to a farm north of Brooklyn, and in 1961 they came to their present farm northwest of Ewart.

Mr. Krumm was a member of the Ewart Presbyterian Church and the Poweshiek County Farm Bureau. He was also a member of the Big Eight Bowling League in Montezuma.

Surviving are his wife, Doris; his children, Evelyn Durr of Orlando, Fla., Carolyn Means of Loveland, Colo., and Kenneth of Fort Collins, Colo.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, John of Brooklyn; and one sister, Katherine McDowell of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers, Adolph, Valentine, Phillip, Jasper, Paul, Jacob, Marion, David and Rudolph.
