PAUL L. KRUMM

Paul L. Krumm, age 68, died on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at his home in Grinnell.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Rev. Paul Johnson, interim pastor of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. Interment will follow his service in Westfield Cemetery south of Grinnell.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to his service.

Paul was born the son of Paul and Doris Losey Krumm on Aug. 6, 1943, in Grinnell. He was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1961. He then attended the Stone-Camryn School of Ballet in Chicago, Ill.

Paul had a special love for the arts, the most important to him being music. He and his tenor singing voice were actively involved in quartets and performed in high school musicals. He was a professional ballet dancer from 1962 until 1972 for several organizations, including the Phyllis Sabold Company in Highland Park, Ill., touring all 48 continental states with that group; and the Ruth Page Chicago Opera Ballet Company, where he performed as a soloist. He also danced at Radio City Music Hall in New York City's Rockefeller Center. Paul's faith was very important to him and he was well educated in several different faiths.

Paul is survived by his sister, Karen Weaver of Grinnell, and several relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
