ADOLPH KRUMM RITES TUESDAY

Adolph Krumm, 71, of 1117 Spencer St., Grinnell, died Saturday morning, Feb. 15, at Grinnell General Hospital.

The son of Henry and Katharina Mathes Krumm, he was born May 2, 1903, southwest of Lynnville. He attended rural schools near the family home.

On June 5, 1934, he was married to Alma Mae Kent at Newton, The couple hd three sons, two of whom survive: Larry Duane Krumm of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Ronald Francis Krumm of Burnsville, Minn. Mr. Krumm had lived in the Grinnell area most of his life. He was associated with the United Food Store in Grinnell and was later transfered to manage the United Food Store in Colfax for four years. He clerked at Green's Eastside Grocery, Woolen Shoe Store, Zimm's True Value Hardware and Arnold's Shoe Store before illness forced his retirement.

Survivors include his wife and two sons; six grandchildren, Mark, Brian and Kent Krumm of Flagstaff and Christopher, Tracy Ann and Leigh Krumm of Burnsville; six brothers, Jacob of Rte. 1, Grinnell, Rudolph of Gilman, Marion of Grinnell, Henry of Rte. 4, Grinnell, David of Rte. 2, Grinnell, and John of Brooklyn; and one sister, Mrs. Katharine McDowell of Rte. 4, Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald Adolph; his parents; and four brothers, Philip, Jasper, Paul and Valentine Krumm.

Mr. Krumm was a member of the United Methodist Church and a past master of Hermon Masonic Lodge No. 273 of Grinnell.

Funeral services for Mr. Krumm will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. John W. McCallum, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner, and pallbearers will be Walter A. Barnes, Keith L. Gregory, Glen Harris, Boyd Locker, Donald J. Phillips and Noel B. Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will include Harry Bitcon, H.P. Broyles, Henry Selle, Ross Swart and Ben P. Tarleton. Masonic rites will be conducted by Clark Watkins and members of Hermon Lodge No. 273, AF and AM.

Burial will be at Westfield Cemetery.
