RACHEL TRAGGARDH, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES IN CALIFORNIA
Word has been received here of the death Mar. 23rd at San Diego, Calif., of Mrs. Rachel Newton Traggardh, a former Grinnell resident.
She was 89 years, six months of age at the time of death.
Mrs. Traggardh was an aunt of Mrs. Cordia Wilkinson and a cousin of John Newton, both of Grinnell.
Born southeast of Grinnell, she was a graduate of Grinnell high school and Leland Clark College at Toledo. She had been employed as a secretary at the old Spaulding factory and later was secretary to Judge Lewis at Montezuma.
She moved to San Diego in 1912.
Married to John G. Traggardh, he preceded her in death on Dec. 19th, 1935.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers and eight sisters. One sister was the late Mrs. Clara Iverson of Grinnell.
Mrs. Traggardh was the last member of the late Charles Newton family of Grinnell.
