RUSSELL TALBERT, 59

Russell Talbert, 59, of Montezuma, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011. A memorial service was held at the Community Hope Church in Montezuma on Saturday, Dec.31, at 11 a.m. Burial was in the Jackson Township Cemetery at Montezuma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hope Church. Holland-Coble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Russell Floyd Talbert was born in Oskaloosa on March 19, 1952, the son of Russell and Bettie Stanford Talbert. He was a 1970 graduate of the Montezuma High School and later attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. Russ began farming full time on the Talbert family farm in 1975. Then in 1984, he opened Russell T's Pizza in Montezuma while still managing the farm. In 1977, he professed his faith in Christ and became a Christian. Russ has attended church services every week since. He attended Community Hope Church in Montezuma where he enjoyed playing music on his bass guitar. Russ also enjoyed restoring classic cars and doing most anything with his brother.

Russell is survived by his father, Russell Dayle Talbert, of New Sharon; his mother, Bettie Talbert, of Montezuma; a brother, Rick Talbert, of Montezuma; two nieces, Rachel Perez of Marshallton and Rebekah Coster of Montezuma; a nephew, Colton Talbert of Montezuma; and three great-nieces and nephew, Kieren, Jaylah and Elliott.
