KEITH HAUSER

The Rev. Keith Hauser, 77, of 923 Seeland Dr., Grinnell, died Wednesday July 27, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Laurel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neil Montz, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Lon Lewis, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Organist was Lula Garnes.

Pallbearers were Gene Adkins, Lee Adkins, Charles Holmes, Gregg Lukehart, Jim Powell and Morey Wolken. Honorary bearers were Will Lukehart, Matt Lukehart, Sam Mills and Brad Mills. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Laurel.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Hauser's name may be made to the Perkins School of Theology Scholarship Fund and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell 50112.

The son of Miller and Eunice Sisk Hauser, he was born April 28, 1917, in Richmond, Mo. He was a 1935 graduate of Richmond High School. He graduated from Central Missouri College and received his theology degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

He was married to Charlotte McIlrath July 15, 1950, in Laurel.

He served Methodist churches in Missouri for eight years and then served churches in several Iowa communities, including Rhodes, Central City, Jesup, Hornick, Rolfe, Shell Rock, Bayard and Buffalo Center. He retired in 1980 and moved to Gilman. In 1990 he moved to Grinnell.

Mr. Hauser was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church and the Retired Methodist Ministers of the Iowa Methodist Conference. He was formerly a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife, Charlotte; one daughter, Ida Mills of Elk River, Minn.; one son, Dave Lukehart of Adel; four grandchildren; and one brother, Eldon Hauser of Philadelphia, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mervin.
