C.E. COONS

C. E. Coons was born March 9th, 1847, at Cincinnati, Ohio. He was married to Kate Maxon February 11th, 1873, at Searsboro, Iowa, and soon after moved to Grinnell where he resided until six years ago when he moved to Des Moines, residing there to the time of his death, Nov. 9th, 1910. He had been in poor health for nine months, but was taken suddenly worse Sunday morning, Nov. 6th, suffering a stroke of apoplexy from which he never rallied, passing away at 11:25 Wednesday night. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. All of them were with him at the time of his death except his son, Walter, who is in Long Beach, Calif.

The body was brought to Grinnell today and interred in Hazelwood cemetery.
