ARDELLA M. FITZSIMMONS, 76

Ardella Mae Fitzsimmons, 76, of Montezuma, died Friday, Dec. 13, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Her funeral service was Monday, Dec. 16, at the First Presbyterian Church, Montezuma, with the Rev. George M. Salnave officiating. Interment followed at the Masonic-IOOF Cemetery, Montezuma.

Casket bearers were James Fisk, Jimmy Fisk, Randall Goeke, Terrell Goeke, Bennett Goeke, Kerry Kriegel, Ross McCulla and Thomas Van Ersvelde.

Ardella was born March 1, 1926, in Moline, Ill., the daughter of Arthur Carl and Neva (Boyd) Goeke. She attended country schools in Illinois and Iowa and high school in Guernsey and Montezuma, graduating in 1944. She was united in marriage with William Fitzsimmons March 17, 1945. To this union two sons, Richard and John, were born. She was a homemaker and farmer's wife. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Willing Workers Club. She loved to quilt and made many for her family.

She is survived by her family, Richard Fitzsimmons of Springfield, Va., and John (and Joan) Fitzsimmons of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren, Todd, Meghan and Ryan of Virginia and Eric and Kristin of Colorado; five brothers, Arthur B. Goeke of Toledo; Leonard Goeke of Washington; Kenneth Goeke of Darlington, S.C., Donald Goeke of Rio Linda, Calif., and David Goeke of Ottumwa; one sister, Beverly Drafahl of Montezuma, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Watts Fuenral Home, Montezuma, was in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Presbyterian Family Center, Montezuma.
