VERNA R. HARBIN

Verna R. Harbin, 75, of Grand Rapids, Mich., formerly of Grinnell, died Wednesday, May 6, at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, at Calvary Baptist Church in Grinnell.

She was the daughter of Alfred and Pearl Wahner and was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Malcom. She attended school in Grinnell. She moved to Des Moines in the 1940s and to Grand Rapids in 1994.

Surviving are two sons, Steve Harbin of Grinnell and Lloyd Harbin of Grand Rapids; one step-son, Ron Harbin of New Sharon; a brother, Alfred Wahner Jr. of Cedar Falls; three sisters, Dorothy Fleener of Grinnell, Vera Van Wyngarden of Malcom and Shirley Harrelson of Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her parents; and one brother.
