DELMAR FREESE, 69, SERVICES SCHEDULED
Delmar A. Freese, 69, a former Poweshiek County farmer lately of Toledo, died Wednesday in a Marshalltown hospital where he had been a patient for five days.
Mr. Freese was born Sept. 15, 1898, near Malcom, the son of Hans and Catherine Fisher Freese. He was raised in the Malcom area, and in 1920 married Phyllis Stanford. The couple farmed in Poweshiek and Tama counties.
Mr. Freese was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist church in Toledo, and was also a member of I.O.O.F. in that community.
He is survived by a son Duane of Toledo; a daughter, Mrs. Joann Ashing, formerly of Grinnell and now also of Toledo; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1962, in addition to seven brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services for Mr. Freese will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 7, in the United Methodist church in Tama. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
