MRS. ANNA KELM

Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Kelm, 78, wife of Gus Kelm and a lifetime resident of the Poewshiek county area, died December 11 at a Grinnell hospital.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Trinity Lutheran church with the Rev. Fred Peters, pastor, officiating. Prayer service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at a Grinnell funeral home. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran cemetery.

The daughter of Hans and Katherine Fisher Freese, she was born Aug. 23, 1885, in Jackson township, near Montezuma. She attended the Bear Creek township schools.

On Feb.20, 1907, she was united in marriage with Gus Kelm at her family home near Malcom. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Malcom area until 1947 when they moved to Grinnell.

Mrs. Kelm was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and the Women's Circle of the church.

Survivors include her husband, Gus; two sons, Everett of Corning, N.Y., and LaVerne of Malcom; a daughter, Mrs Adolph (Marie) Pearson of Paradise, Calif.; nine grandchildren, and two brothers, Delmar Freese of Toledo and William Freese of Allison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and three sisters.
