RITES FOR MRS. SIEHL HELD APRIL 17

Funeral services for Mrs. Hans (Inez) Siehl were conducted by the Rev. Howard Hayes Wednesday afternoon, April 17, at the Steffy Funeral Home. Music was provided by Mrs. Keith Stahl, soloist, accompanied by Miss Alice Underwood, organist.

Interment was at Jackson Township Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Clyde Barnes, Harold Barnes, Walter Barnes, Farrell Siehl, Floyd Luttman and Elmer Luttman.

Mrs. Siehl, 74, died Sunday, April 14, at Grinnell General Hospital.

The daughter of Eliza and William Barnes, she was born in Gilman, Iowa, on Feb. 21, 1894.

She attended the Gilman School and later helped care for several nieces and nephews.

She was united in marriage with Hans Siehl. They made their home on a farm east of Gilman until 1936 when they moved to their farm south of Montezuma. When they retired, they moved to Grinnell, but returned to make their home in Montezuma. For the past ten years Mrs. Siehl has been in failing health.

She was the last member of her family of three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Dimit of Claremont, Calif., and Mrs. Patricia Arvidson of Montezuma; three grandchildren, Joyce Shadley, Gary and Richard Dimit; five great grandchildren, Mark, Julie and Susana Shadley; Randy and Melody Dimit.
