RITES HELD FOR MR. GRUENHAUPT

Henry Gruenhaupt, 87, of Waukon formerly of Grinnell, died Saturday, Dec. 4, at Waukon.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon, with the Rev. Marlyn D. Hansing officiating. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon, with the Martin Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 5, 1895, in Helmighausen, Germany, living on the family farm until coming to the U.S. in 1923. On May 14, 1930, he was married to Hattie Troester at Davenport. Mr. Gruenhaupt was a cow tester in Clayton County, farmed near Searsboro, and lived in Grinnell for 33 years where he worked for the DeKalb Seed Corn Co. He and his wife moved to Waukon in 1977.

Survivors include his wife; two children, Lee Gruenhaupt of Waukon and Ruth Hein of Rochester, Minn.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Ernest, in Germany.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
