FORMER RESIDENT HARRY ARMSTRONG DIES IN ILLINOIS

Former Grinnellian Harry L. Armstrong, 41, died early Saturday morning at a Freeport, Ill., hospital. He had been ill for about four months.

Mr. Armstrong had been a resident of Grinnell all of his life until 1950 when he moved to Warren, Ill. He was employed as DeKalb plant manager at Warren at the time of his death.

Funeral services were held in Warren today (Monday) and graveside services will be held at Hazelwood cemetery at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Grinnell Elks Lodge No. 1266 in charge. He was active in Lions Club work in Warren and a memorial fund has been established in his name for a public park in that community.

While in Grinnell he was active in the Elks Lodge and was a Past Exalted Ruler.

Survivors include his wife, the former Doris Baustian; one son, Jerry; a granddaughter; his mother, Mrs. Foster Armstrong of Grinnell; one sister, Mrs. Albert Haunsperger of Kellogg; and one brother, Everett of Grinnell.
