HAROLD PIERCE

Harold L. "Skip" Pierce, 75, of Lake Ponderosa, Montezuma, died Jan. 4 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Jan. 7 at the Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma, with the Rev. George Salnave, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Montezuma, officiating. Organist was Kathleen Ramsey, and soloist was Darrell Brand.

Pallbearers were Gary Goreham, Bob Rauch, Keith Jack, Dan Anderson, Bill Ahrens and Jerry Little. Honorary bearers were Lester Thompson, Ralph Baker, Gerrit Septer, Don Erquist, Harold Thompson, Don Tindle, Marvin Ramsey and Lester Baird.

Burial was in Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma.

The son of Earl and Viola Pierce, he was born Dec. 11, 1918, in Trolly, N.D. He was married to Kathryn Arlene Moyer June 25, 1938, in Grinnell. Mr. Pierce was a farmer and worked in home construction.

Surviving are his wife, Arlene; one son, Earl of Montezuma; one daughter, Judy Hall of Malcom; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Stemsrud of Grinnell and Virginia Rud of Arizona; and one brother, Clyde Griffin of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Helen Roberts, Mattie McNaul, Lodema Story and Tonnie McNaul; and one brother, Vern Griffin.
