DUANE B. PURDUM, 47

Duane Bruce Purdum, 47, of Brooklyn, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at his home at Holiday Lake.

A funeral was Dec. 14 in Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn, with the Rev. David Rogula officiating. Casket bearers were Bob Kalinay, George Hiner, Steve Heishman, Gary Behaunek, Rod Thompson and Jim Davidson. Interment followed in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Duane was born March 29, 1954, in Oskaloosa, the son of Carroll "Skip Cliff Purdum and Helen Violet Simpson. He attended schools in Ottumwa and Brooklyn and graduated from BGM High School in 1972. He held various positions at Manatts, and also worked at Sig's in Montezuma and for Tom Cannon's Plumbing & Heating. He belonged to Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn.

Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Bartachek of Waterloo; his mother and stepfather, Helen and Robert Willett, Brooklyn; and his brother, Mack (Mary) Purdum, Montezuma. He was preceded in death by his father.
