Frederick Story Rites

Frederick J. Story, 50, Malcom, died Sunday morning, January 31, at University Hospital in Iowa City.

The son of Earl and Elizabeth Erickson Story, he was born March 25, 1920, at Malcom. He attended school there and had been a resident of Malcom most of his life. On Dec. 5, 1942, he married the former Betty Tinkle at the Methodist parsonage in Montezuma.

He was employed by Sift Co. and also managed a service station in Malcom, Mr. and Mrs. Story lived in Indianola for six years and then returned to Malcom where he managed a Gulf service station in Grinnell. For the past year he has managed a Standard station in Malcom.

Survivors include his wife Betty; three daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Sharon) Robison of Malcom, Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Hunerdosse of Grinnell and Cindy of the home; a son, Roy Story of Grinnell; four grandchildren, Kenny and Kim Robison and Shawn and Jill Hunerdosse; a brother, Earl Story Jr. of Malcom; a sister. Mrs. Pearly (Bernice) Smith of Malcom.

Funeral services for Mr. Story were Wednesday, February 3, at 2 p.m. in the Malcom Methodist Church. Officiating were the Rev. James Davidson and the Rev. Samuel Reaves. Vocalist was Marilyn Stahl accompanied by organist JoAnn Schneckloth.

Pallbearers were Ed Barnes, James Manatt, Sonny Schneckloth, Marvin Kolars, Henry Reefers and Jack Wakeley. Flower attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd White and Mrs. Lyle Baumann.

Burial was in Ivy Hill Cemetery at Malcom.

Mr. Story was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernest and Donald; and an infant sister.
