RITES HELD FOR ROGER GAUSS

Roger Gauss, 41, formerly of Grinnell, died of cancer Wednesday, June 12, at his home in McAffee, N.J.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday in Florida, N.Y., with burial there.

He was born in Grinnell, attended Grinnell schools and graduated from Grinnell High School. He received a degree in music from Drake University, then spent four years in the U.S. Air Force. After returning to Iowa, he taught band and choir in the Orient and Davenport schools.

In recent years, he lived in many states and Puerto Rico. He was executive sales manager for Vacations Unlimited.

Mr. Gauss is survived by his wife, Jodie; one daughter, Giselle; a brother, Gordon of River Falls, Wis.; one sister, Marcelline McDonald of Portland, Ore.; and his parents, Eldred and Grace Gauss of Grinnell.
