DOC A. BROOKE DIES AT HOME WEST OF TOWN
Doc A. Brooke, 71 years of age, passed away Tuesday evening at his home west of town. He was taken ill the 19th of July and the next day was taken to Rochester and has been practically bedfast since that time. He returned to his home west of town on the thirteenth of August. Mr. Brooke had lived in and around Grinnell practically all his life. Funeral services were held this afternoon at two-thirty o'clock from the Smith funeral home conducted by Rev. Charles R. Rowe, pastor of the Methodist church.
He was the uncle of the wife of Henry E. Efnor, deputy county auditor of Jasper county, and is survived by his two daughters, Miss Mabel Brooke and Mrs. V.D. Hotchkin.
