OBITUARY.

MRS. HANNAH HEESCH

The death of Mrs. Hannah Heesch occurred Wednesday evening, July 30, after a lingering illness of six weeks. Deceased, whose maiden name was Hannah J. Whitson, was born in Ohio in 1855 and came to Iowa with her parents when 2 years of age and located in Scott county.

Mr. and Mrs. Heesch were married in 1883. After the marriage they moved to Poweshiek county and settled in Sheridan township, moving to their present home south of Grinnell eleven years ago. Mr. Heesch and four children are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother,--Walter age 17, Alva 13, Veda 9, Raymond 6. She also leaves her mother, one brother and three sisters,--Mrs. Burt of Michigan, Mrs. McGinnis of Leclair, Mrs. Lamer of Davepnort, and Mr. Whitson of Davenport.

Mrs. Heesch united with the Baptist church in 1874, and for 29 years out of the 46 years of her life she has done what she could for the church she loved.

The funeral services took place at the home at 4 p.m. July 31. The remains will be taken to Davenport for interment.
