Little Nellie May, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Messick, was born April 7th, 1887, and died April 13th, 1897, at the early age of ten years and six days, thus God had given them little Nellie, to remain in and bless their home for a short time, and then took her out of this world of sorrow and sin, before her little soul became polluted and unfitted for that better country. Mr. and Mrs. Messick are enabled to look up through the mist of tears and rejoice in the privilege of meeting Nellie in the blessed beyond. The funeral was preached at the residence to the relatives and a few of the friends, and her remains laid away in the Montezuma cemetery to await the general resurrection.

A precious one has gone,
A voice we love is still,
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled;
God needed one more angel child
A midst His shining band,
And so He bent with loving smile,
And clasped little Nellie's Hand.
