CLARENCE ROSS SERVICES HELD

Clarence E. Ross, 65, a native of Malcom, died Jan. 22 in Unionville, Mo., following a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 26, with burial at a Unionville cemetery.

The son of John and Ethel Carpenter Woodruff, he was born March 2, 1911, at Malcom. At the age of 3, he was adopted by Mike and Carrie Ross and was raised in the Mendota community where he attended school.

On June 10, 1931, he was married ot LaOna Crawford at Unionville. The couple had five children.

Mr. Ross was a miner in the Mendota area, and in 1956 he and his wife moved to Stockton, Calif., where he was employed by the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. until his retirement in 1976. Mr. and Mrs. Ross then returned to Unionville.

Survivors include his wife, LaOna; four children, Carl W. Ross and Carol Liles, both of Angleton, Tex., Karen Aglin of Kansas City, Mo., and Clarence Ross Jr. of Kansas City, Kan.; and 14 grandchildren. Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Melba Fern who died in infancy; one sister, Inez Davids; and three brothers, Carl Ross, Harry Brown, and Andis Watson.
