MRS. WINCHESTER SERVICES TUESDAY

Mrs. Opal M. Winchester, 62, wife of Edgar L. Winchester of 322 West St., died Friday evening at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

She was born Jan. 3, 1910, the daughter of John and Amelia West Troxell, in Monticello, Ky. She was married to Mr. Winchester in Oneida, Tenn., Jan. 2, 1927, and the couple had two daughters, Mrs. Billy (Gladys) Bennett and Mrs. Ray (Pauline) Williams, both of Grinnell.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Winchester moved to the Rock Creek area to farm. In 1947, they moved to their present home in Grinnell. Mrs. Winchester worked at Midwest Stamping Company in Kellogg.

Mrs. Winchester is survived by her husband and two daughters, eight grandchildren, Steven Bennett of Grinnell, Mrs. Marla Kriegel of Newburg, Mrs. Mary Albertson of Newton, and Ronnie, Larry, Gary, Randy and Darla Williams, all of Grinnell; and two great-grandchildren, Marvin and Lisa Kriegel, both of Newburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Winchester will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sam Reaves, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner. Pallbearers will include Hollis Elliott, Larry O. Hines, Harvey Marcum, Jack Mason, Loren W. Rutledge, and Dwain Sumpter.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.
