PETERS RITES HELD SATURDAY

Charlie E. Peters died at Grinnell General Hospital on April 21 at 82 years of age.

Services for Charlie Peters were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 24 at the Steffy Funeral Home in Montezuma. Rev. Myron Harris officiated, and organist was Mrs. Booker Kiner. Interment was in Pleasant Township Cemetery in Ewart, Iowa.

Charlie Peters was born to William and Jane Peters on May 7, 1893. He attended rural school and worked on the family's farm home near Malcom.

On Feb. 20, 1915, he was married to Janie Jeffrey. The couple had two sons. They established their home on a farm where he worked for 54 years.

He was a member of the Ewart Presbyterian Church, the Farm Bureau, the grange and served as a township trustee.

Charlie Peters was preceded in death by his wife and his son, Donald. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Mildred Peters, and other relatives and friends.
